happy thanksgiving

happy thanksgiving! too bad australians dont celebrate the holiday.
lastnight i worked as a bartender, even though i really had no idea what i was doing! i mostly just poured beer and let the other bartender handle the mixed drinks. it wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be.
this weekend they city of sydney is having a christmas parade even though its still a month away. they have all sorts of activities throughout the city up until christmas.
just last weekend me and my two guy roomates took a walk to nicole kidmans house. she lives only about 5 minutes walk from my appartment. she was due in to court the following day so we knew she was at her house. there was also a security guard outside who wouldnt let us take any pictures. russell crowe lives about 5 minutes in the opposite direction. too bad i havent seen either of them around.
hope everyone enjoys the holiday:)

huge christmas tree in the mall. its 4 stories tall. this is the view from the 4th floor.

crown from the 1800s.

life size version of the queen.

my favorite intersection. and also another important building.

queen victoria building, downtown sydney on george street.

christmas tree in the middle of hyde park. i made sure to include the palm trees in the background! and if you look even closer poeple are laying out enjoying the warm weather. it definitly is weird preparing for christmas while its summer.

still part of hyde park. i'm not sure what building this is but it looks important. i will go back and find out what building it is and its significance.

hyde park has over 500 trees. or maybe it was 700 trees. i cant remember but its a really nice park in the city.

hello

well not too much has been going on here. i've been working and trying to keep busy for the most part. i really enjoying working becuase it keeps me occupied and it goes by really fast. some nights they have me cleaning up empty beer glasses all night and i work behind the bar making sure theres plenty of glasses for the bartenders. other nights they have me work at the front door taking down names of people who are 21 and under. the legal drinking age is 18 but the place i work has been fined for underage drinking. so in order to look professional they have to keep a record of who is there that is under21. poeple under 21 also have to have two forms of idenification, which at most bars its uneccessary. this is just so my work doesn't get in trouble again for underage drinking. working at the front door can get boring, but its funny to see all the drunk people who the bouncers wont let in. alot of times the bouncer will ask you how much you've had to drink before they let you in. if they think you're too drunk they wont let you in!

anyway i have heard that the eagles aren't doing so well, but the flyers are doing great. let me know whats been going on with that. has it been getting colder at home? the weather here has been fairly warm. most days its been in the low 80s or high 70s but it will soon be changing to really hot temps since summer is coming. oh yeah they dont really cellebrate halloween here. i didnt know anyone who was dressing up or even made a big deal about it. at ECU that was one of the biggest party nights where people came from all over just to cellebrate.

i havent taken any new pictures, although i think i might be headed to the blue mountains soon. they have day trips to the blue mountains which i have heard its really beautiful and its really cheap to get there. so maybe i will head there for the day before it gets too hot.

i saw online today about the police officer that was shot at the dunkin donuts. that is really sad and disturbing. what is being done in philadelphia to stop this kind of stuff from happening??
well its time for me to fold my laundry and clean up my room. hope everyone is well! keep posting comments!

same area where i sometimes go and read. alot of these pictures are all take in very close proximity to each other.

the guy in the black shirt was leading the pack of kids to a song and dance. the kids were having so much fun i kind of wanted to join in. maybe i could have impressed them with my kick-ball-chain. i've been saving that dance step for a special occasion for many years now.

labor day festivities. this is the same group of poeple that were doing the martial arts in a previous picture.

me and austen at the bar.

at the labor day fiesta. these two guys were doing martial arts as well as doing flips. it was quite the performance.

at the park in watsons bay. shortly after taking this picture is when i realized it wasn't a spider bite on my leg but rather a blood clot. and mom you cant send biscotti to me or steven becuase they dont usually let food go through the mail here. i have a whole pamphlet about what can be sent here. and if you do send something that isnt meant to be sent here i can get fined for it. i wil send the pamphelt home to mom.

looking cool with my helmet on. my future husband must ride a motorcycle so i can ride on the back!
