recovering
i'm not sure if mom spread the word, but i was diagnosed with a superficial blood clot on my leg the other day. luckily they are not the serious deep vein blood clots that can dislodge into your lungs, brain, etc causing death. my australian friend Steve took me to the doctors and made sure i was ok. i guess i didnt move around enough on the plane. anyway, i just recovered from a long labor day weekend here. it was also the rugby finals, which is like the superbowl of the US or so i was told. the whole city was celebrating like i've never seen before. i took a bunch of pictures but i am having trouble loading them on the computer. so hopefully i will have them up soon. i heard the phillies made the playoffs!! time for lunch....

Thank the Lord that Steve got jess to the doctor right away...I was ready to have a stiff drink when Jess called on friday morning to tell us everything was ok and not to worry...worry...that's what we do...Jess, please thank steve for us...I see some homemade biscotti in his future...sound like it was a tremendous weekend in Sydney with the rugby and holiday there...it was a Phabulous weekend here in philly with the Phillies winning...Harry K said it all when he sang "High Hopes"...that's what kept the team together all season and it paid off...I have to admit there were plenty of times that I thought they would never do it...I'll never think that again...Let's all enjoy this playoff series and have some fun...jess, I will keep you posted on the phillies...the eagles are another story...talk to you soon and stay safe...I guess you're looking forward to moving into the apartment...good luck with the job hunt too...love you,

geeze, glad to hear your ok jess... that's scary. isn't it kind of hard to move around on a plane, especially when your flying to the other side of the world? it was definitely an interesting game to say the least last sunday night. i was expecting the eagles to get us pretty good especially after the kicked detroit's butt, but the giants have finally come around and our defense has definitely made a statement, FINALLY! hope you are feeling better and congrats on finding a great apartment. good luck on the job hunt... are you going to be looking for a criminal justice job out there?

I hope you are Ok -- how did you know you had the clot? Were oyu light-headed? I did talk to your Mom over the weekend about the Phillies, but she didn't mention anything. I'll be thinking about you -- take care of yourself....
As for the Phillies -- they lost the first game of the sereis and the next gam eis today (10/4) @ 3PM. Let's hope for the best....they were just awful yesterday....
The eagles -- who are they? Is your friend Niclole a Giants fan???

Good luck moving into your apartment -- probalby now as I write to you becasue I think it is already October 5th in Aussie time.

Hey Jess! Wow, sorry to hear about the blood clot! Were you in a lot of pain? What did they put you on? Anyways, hope it's resolved. Sounds like you are having a great time--I think of you often. Keep us posted on all your doins!
